Dr. Horacio de la Cueva: Requiem for the Tricolored Blackbird in Mexico?

The recorded decrease in range and reproductive effort of the Tricolored Blackbird in Baja California is a product of both climate change and changes in agricultural practices. There are no planned rescues for this bird (and many other species) in Baja California. Its fate depends on the availability of native emerging vegetation in wetlands, ponds, and dams. Join Dr. Horacio de la Cueva for this public presentation.

Dr. Horacio de la Cueva is a research scientist at CICESE, a research and grad school in Ensenada, Baja California. Dr. de la Cueva has worked with the introduction of the California Condor to Baja California, the mascarita quail in Sonora and is currently involved in the Vaquita project in the Gulf of California. Dr. de la Cueva has many graduate students and 49 peer-reviewed publications.
