4th of July Owl Prowl in the Southern Sierras

Mary and Nick Freeman will lead an Owl Prowl Adventure in the in the southern Sierra above Lake Isabella for 3 nights, July 2 and out July 5. We will have a potluck the first night (register with Mary once you are CONFIRMED), an LAAS sponsored BBQ hot dog dinner the second night, and plenty of leftovers (always!) the third. There will be a total of 8 house guests, including the two paying leaders. We will stay in a lovely cabin rental which has space for a strict maximum of 8. This will be our 15th year leading this "July 4" trip.

We will experience Northern Saw-whet, Flammulated, California Spotted, hopeful Northern Pygmy-Owl and who knows what during the day! This is an Owling Adventure! Be prepared to stay out until 1AM or later! Total price for the entire weekend is $175.00. A price you will not find in any bird festival! Once you have been confirmed, you will receive the full itinerary. Participants must have received their final Covid vaccine(s) by June 18 (two weeks before July 2) to participate. We will follow any changes in CDC guidelines, but presently (as of April 7th), we should be able to safely carpool and eat inside, both without masks. If you have high-risk or unvaccinated people living with you, please consider NOT participating, as this activity could pose a risk to them.
