This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for April 9.

Two LONG-TAILED DUCKS continued on the lower Los Angeles River in Long Beach through April 9.  One was between Anaheim Street and 7th Street and the other was above and below Ocean Blvd.

Late COMMON GOLDENEYES were at the Glendale Riverwalk along the Los Angeles River through April 6 and at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas through April 7.

A few COMMON GROUND DOVES continue in Cerritos just south of the Volutone parking lot (west of the 605 Freeway and south of Alondra Blvd.), with sightings through March 4.

A SOLITARY SANDPIPER was at Hansen Dam on April 2.

Up to seven NEOTROPIC CORMORANTS continued at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas through April 8.

A YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was at the Ballona Freshwater Marsh through April 3.

A BROAD-WINGED HAWK was seen along the Angeles Crest Highway near Cedar Spring on April 6.

The ZONE-TAILED HAWK at Grand Ave. Park in Monrovia continued through April 5.

The DUSKY-CAPPED FLYCATCHER at Heartwell Park in Long Beach continued through April 6. It has been in the area northwest of the corner of Parkcrest St. and Woodruff Ave.

The TROPICAL KINGBIRD continued at Entradero Park in Torrance through April 7 near the pond.

Both a DARK-EYED "GRAY-HEADED" JUNCO and a DARK-EYED "PINK-SIDED" JUNCO continued in Juniper Hills through April 5.

A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW continued on the east slope of the playground at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles through April 8.

A GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE and a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER continued through April 4 and a PALM WARBLER continued through April 7 at the West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail in Lakewood.

The BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER continued at Madrona Marsh in Torrance though April 6.

A LUCY'S WARBLER was at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora on April 3.

A PALM WARBLER continued at the San Gabriel Coastal Basin Spreading Grounds in Pico Rivera through April 4. It has been on the west side by the Mines Ave. entrance.

A BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER was in the Tipu trees at Col. Leon H. Washington Park in Los Angeles from April 3-8.

A SUMMER TANAGER continued at the southwest edge of the central lawn area at the Village Green Condominiums in Los Angeles through April 4. This is private property, but birders are welcome.
