A EURASIAN WIGEON was at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas (near the RV Cove) on September 28.
An AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER was at the Ballona Creek mouth in Playa del Rey on September 28.
The PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER continued along lower Ballona Creek through September 30. It is usually by the UCLA boat ramp upstream from the Pacific Ave bridge.
A RUFF was along the Los Angeles River in South Gate between Southern Ave. and Firestone Blvd. from September 26-27.
A SABINE'S GULL was along the lower Los Angeles River between Willow Street and Del Amo on September 25.
A MANX SHEARWATER (reachable only by boat) continued west of Redondo Beach through September 26.
A RED-FOOTED BOOBY was in San Pedro at the 22nd Street landing from September 24-26.
An immature LITTLE BLUE HERON has been along the lower Los Angeles River in Long Beach in the vicinity of Willow Street through September 28. A TROPICAL KINGBIRD was in this area from September 25-28.
YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were at the Ballona Freshwater Marsh and at the nearby Ballona Creek mouth othrough September 28.
A ZONE-TAILED HAWK was at Coldwater Canyon Park on September 30.
A PURPLE MARTIN was at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas from September 24-27. A COMMON TERN continued there through September 25.
Up to five BOBOLINKS continued at the San Gabriel Coastal Basin Spreading Grounds in Pico Rivera through September 29 along the east side of the south basin.
Up to three more BOBOLINKS were at the north end of Peck Road Water Conservation Park in Arcadia from September 24-28.
A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was at Harbor Regional Park in Harbor City on September 25. It was by the second pedestrian bridge north of the Ranger Station.
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLERS were by the playground at Victoria Park in Carson on September 26 and continuing at Madrona Marsh in Torrance (in the "Wilson's Alley" willows) through September 30.
TENNESSEE WARBLERS were at Wheeler Park in Claremont on September 25, at Parras Middle School in Redondo Beach on September 25 and on San Clemente Island from September 28-29.
A LUCY'S WARBLER continued in the meadow area on the east side of Silver Lake Reservoir through September 30. Look for this bird at the north end of the tree "island" that borders the west side fence. In this area was an INDIGO BUNTING on September 25.
An AMERICAN REDSTART was at Harbor Regional Park in Harbor City on September 28 by the fishing pier closest to Highway 1. Another continued near the restrooms at Sand Dune Park in Manhattan Beach through September 29.
A BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER was at Occidental College (in eucalyptus trees by the entrance) from September 29-30. A SUMMER TANAGER was found here on September 30. You do not need permission to visit the campus, but you must be fully vaccinated.
A CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was at Hopkins Wilderness Park in Redondo Beach on September 28.
BLACKPOLL WARBLERS included up to two by the park administration buildings at DeForest Park in Long Beach from September 25-27 and one on San Clemente Island from September 28-29.
A PAINTED REDSTART had returned for a second winter to Inglewood Park Cemetery as of September 24. The bird frequents a large oak in the Pinecrest section.
A DICKCISSEL was on San Clemente Island from September 25-30. A BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER was on the island from September 28-29, a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was there on September 29, a PALM WARBLER was present on September 30 and a ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was found on September 28.
