This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for May 1, 2026. 

A WHITE-WINGED DOVE was near Crystalaire Country Club in Llano on April 25.

An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB (letter of permission required) on April 26.

A BROWN PELICAN continued at Peck Road Water Conservation Park in Arcadia through April 26.  

A WESTERN CATTLE-EGRET was at Chatsworth Nature Preserve (permit required) on April 25.

A ZONE-TAILED HAWK was at Hahamongna Watershed Park in Pasadena on April 26.

A TROPICAL KINGBIRD continued at El Dorado Park (Area 3 west of the old Ranger Station parking lot) through April 26.

A PURPLE MARTIN was at Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park in Harbor City on April 25.

A PALM WARBLER was in Griffith Park on April 28.

Another PALM WARBLER was at a residence in Pasadena on April 29.
