This is the Los Angeles RBA for August 29, 2026.

A HOODED MERGANSER continued at La Mirada Community Park in La Mirada through August 24.

A WHITE-WINGED DOVE was along the lower Los Angeles River in Long Beach through August 23.  This bird was on the east side north of the pipe bridge above Willow Street.

A GREATER ROADRUNNER continued on the east side of the Los Angeles River above Willow Street through August 24.

A RED KNOT was at the Ballona Salt Pan in Playa del Rey on August 25.

A SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER continued along the lower Los Angeles River above Willow Street in Long Beach through August 29.  

Another SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER was along lower Ballona Creek between Centinela and Inglewood on August 28.

Six PURPLE MARTINS were at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas on August 26.

Early fall migrants included a SWAINSON’S THRUSH and a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET in Rancho Palos Verdes on August 25.

Another early SWAINSON’S THRUSH was at Piute Ponds on August 27.

SUMMER TANAGERS included birds continuing at Monrovia Canyon Park above Monrovia through August 28 and at Descanso Gardens through August 23.
