A male BLACK SCOTER was at the Hollywood Reservoir from November 3-4.
The PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER along lower Ballona Creek was reported through November 1. It is usually upstream from the Pacific Ave. bridge.
A HEERMANN’S GULL continued at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas through November 3.
A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was along the Los Angeles River in Long Beach (above the Willow Street crossing) on October 29. Two more LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS were between the Atlantic and Slauson crossings along the Los Angeles River on November 1.
A PACIFIC LOON was at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas on November 2.
NEOTROPIC CORMORANTS were along the Los Angeles River in Glendale (Adjacent the Bette Davis Picnic Area) through October 30 and at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas on November 3.
At least two YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were at Ballona Lagoon in Marina del Rey through November 3.
SWAINSON’S HAWKS included two near Littlerock in the south Antelope Valley on November 1 and one at Sycamore Grove Park in Highland Park on November 3.
TROPICAL KINGBIRDS continued at Colorado Lagoon in Long Beach through November 3, at Golden Shore Marine Reserve in Long Beach through November 1 and one was at Sims Bio Pond Reserve in Long Beach on November 2.
A PACIFIC WREN was at Charlton Flat in the San Gabriel Mountains on October 28. It was past far end of the parking area along the Silver Moccasin Trail.
A SEDGE WREN was at the Toyon Landfill in Griffith Park (weekend access only) from October 29-30.
A GRAY CATBIRD was at Jackson Lake in the eastern San Gabriel Mountains from October 29-November 2.
Santa Catalina Island hosted a BROWN THRASHER at Little Harbor on October 31 and a HARRIS’S SPARROW was there on November 1. The Avalon area had a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, two WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, up to four TENNESSEE WARBLERS, a SUMMER TANAGER, a ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, an INDIGO BUNTING and a DICKCISSEL on October 29.
A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was in the Ballona area on October 30.
A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW continued in the meadow area on the west side of Silverlake Reservoir through October 29 and one was in the Sepulveda Basin in Van Nuys on October 30.
A DARK-EYED “GRAY-HEADED” JUNCO was at Hahamongna Watershed Park in Pasadena through October 29 on the west side by the sports field.
A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW continued at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB through October 29.
A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at Hansen Dam (in the willows above the dam outflow) on October 27. Another continued by the old closed pier along the north shore at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas through November 1.
A TENNESSEE WARBLER was at Will Rogers Mini Park in Long Beach (adjacent Colorado Lagoon) on October 29 and a SUMMER TANAGER was there on October 30.
An AMERICAN REDSTART was on San Clemente Island (no public access) on November 1.
A NORTHERN PARULA was at Neff Park in La Mirada (west of the Neff House) on November 1. Another NORTHERN PARULA was at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB (in a cottonwood by the gazebo) on November 4 as was a continuing SWAMP SPARROW.
A BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER continued at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach (at the north end of the pond) through October 30.
PALM WARBLERS were along the Los Angeles River in Long Beach (at Hill Street) on October 30, at Colorado Lagoon in Long Beach on October 30, at the Ferraro Soccer Fields in Glendale from October 30-November 1 and at La Mirada Community Park on October 31.
A PAINTED REDSTART was in Pasadena from October 30-31.
A SUMMER TANAGER was at the Village Green Condominiums on Los Angeles on October 30 at the southwest edge of the central lawn area. This is private property, but birders are welcome. Please be respectful of the residents.
A DICKCISSEL was along the lower Los Angeles River at Hill Street on October 30.
