BIRDS MENTIONED…

Black Swift | Bald Eagle | Brown-crested Flycatcher | Yellow-headed Blackbird | Summer Tanager


This is the Los Angeles RBA for July 31, 2026.

Up to six BLACK SWIFTS were seen by Claremont Wilderness Park and along Cobal Canyon Motorway through July 26.  Late afternoon and early evening is the time to look for these birds.

Up to six BROWN-CRESTED FLYCATCHERS (including juveniles) continued below the Little Rock-Palmdale Dam through July 30.  One viewing location is at Google maps 34.4886,-118.0250. 

There is no vehicle access and you will need to walk the road from the locked gate to this location.  Be aware of the adjacent restricted access and construction areas.  Avoid entering the riparian habitat and the area near the dam itself.  Up to four SUMMER TANAGERS continued in the area through July 29 and a BALD EAGLE was there through July 28. 

A YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was at Malibu Bluffs Park on July 28.

A SUMMER TANAGER was at Monrovia Canyon Park on July 30.
